Nerys Holt- BEd (honours), Diploma SLD/PMLD, VTCT, MFHT.

Nerys qualified with a Bachelor of Education Degree (Honours) from the University of Southampton in 1997 and initially worked in Primary Education. Having worked in Greece and Canada for one year she returned to the UK where she continued teaching.

Nerys has always been passionate about holistic therapy and the benefits that treatments can have on a person’s well-being; physically, emotionally and spiritually.

‘Having worked as a teacher, I know exactly how it feels to be stressed out, struggling to sleep and my colleagues would often feel the same way! It was during these times that I would often seek out a massage to ease both my body and my mind in order to function better. Whilst experiencing the massage benefits first-hand, I realised then that I wanted to make a difference to an individual’s well-being by training to be a massage therapist myself’.

So in 2008, Nerys trained with Gower College in Swansea achieving a VTEC Level 3 Professional Diploma in Swedish massage & Anatomy & Physiology to fulfil her ambition. Two years later, she then set up her own holistic therapy business and client base working from home in Newton, Mumbles.

Having been introduced to Neal’s Yard Organic products by a friend, Nerys was totally smitten not only by their gorgeously certified organic skincare products but their ethical vision, sustainability and the fact that they have never been tested on animals she soon became a registered consultant.

In 2015 whilst teaching at a special school in Swansea, Nerys achieved a Level 3 diploma working with children that have severe and profound multiple learning difficulties. She was able to use her knowledge of massage and the benefits of touch alongside intensive interaction in order to relax and calm the children in her care.

‘I am passionate about promoting a child’s mental well-being and massage is incredibly beneficial in doing this’.

Since then, Nerys has achieved further qualifications and has been accredited with Practitioners Diplomas in: Hot Stone Therapy, Indian Head and Thai foot massage. Nerys is fully insured by The Federation of Holistic Therapists and able to offer bespoke packages to clients using Neal’s Yard Organic skincare products.
